Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley provide for the needs of foster kids through financial and in-kind donations.
Scholarship Program
The Helene Giordano Memorial Scholarship fund has been established for youth who are in the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families (DCF) and are pursuing education at accredited institutions of higher learning. The Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley will annually award two eligible students scholarships ranging up to $2,500. Selection of recipients will be based upon their application and proven academic merit and financial need.
Pack-It-Up Program
Foster children often use plastic trash bags to store their personal belongings when moving between homes
We collect new back packs and duffle bags to help them make a more dignified transition.
This year more than 600 new back packs were donated to FKMV filled with school supplies to be distributed to the foster kids in the Greater Lawrence/Greater Haverhill area.
The TJX Foundation filled duffel bags with clothing and personal items to assist children when moving from house to house.

Financial Assistance Program
We offer financial assistance for a range of purposes that are approved by a DCF representative and the financial committee. These purposes include: emergency funds, higher education, job training, college assistance, summer camp, and more.​

Santa's Helpers Program
Every October, Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley issues its annual call for Santa’s Helpers to support the Annual Foster Kids Christmas Party, where age appropriate toys are distributed to local foster children ages Birth to 12 years old.
The Santa’s Helpers Program provides a personalized, unique kind of gift-giving and creates a memorable holiday season for foster children. The Annual Christmas Party is scheduled in early December every year.
